a bit about me.

I’m Lakshya, I’m a cinematographer from Pune, India, curently based in Chicago, with over five years of experience behind the camera.

My work spans short films, commercials, music videos, documentaries, and live event coverage, with credits as a DP, 1st AC, 2nd AC, Camera Utility, and in Grip/Electric.

My style is what I like to call “calculated run-and-gun” — I thrive on meticulous detail and precision, but I’m equally comfortable improvising and shooting on the fly. I’m drawn to practical, natural lighting, but I’m not afraid to craft a scene with more lighting when the story calls for it.

Collaboration is at the heart of what I do. I work closely with directors and production teams to bring out the best possible version of the project, ensuring the visuals not only stand out but also serve the story in the most honest way.

My journey started by playing around with my father’s DSLR as a kid, telling stories through still photography. That curiosity evolved into a love for moving images, and since then, I’ve been driven to create work that lingers with people — stories that make them think, feel, and remember.

I’m passionate about pushing boundaries, both technically and creatively, to make something truly interesting.

When I’m not on set, you’ll find me geeking out over new gear, jotting down ideas for the next project, or spending time with the people I love.
